Her debut single Here in 2015, when she was just aged 19. It was an instant hit that both critics and the fans were awed by the song. It reached number 19 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song as one of 2015's Top Songs. The same year she launched her first album Know It All, the track Scars to Your Beautiful ranked at the Billboard Hot 100 as well as the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. It also was one of the original five songs. It was a special track since, in light of the Rap-Up interview that she gave many of the listeners could relate to her experience in learning to love themselves and doubting her. Cara's songs be filled with messages of kindness, self-love and mental health. Her inspiration for her music comes from Cara's personal struggle to conquer mental health issues as well as insomnia. Reuters stated that she calls her album "half tumultuous, half perfected". She says she grew through therapy, and encourages anyone else to seek out assistance when needed. Alessia Cara is a Canadian artist who was born July 11, 1996, to parents from Italian heritage. When she was 10 years old her parents gave her a guitar, which was the starting point of her passion for music. Three years later, when she was 13 she started singing songs she loved through YouTube. It was an excellent method to demonstrate to the world her ability and determination. Sweater Weather is among these covers which led to her being noticed to be signed by EP Entertainment. This record label gave her the opportunity to create the songs she wrote herself.
