Her debut single, Here in 2015 at the age of aged 19. The single garnered a lot of praise and was well-received from critics as well as listeners. The single peaked at 19th at both Canadian Hot 100 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song among the 2015's Best Songs. In that same year she released her debut album Know It All with the third single Scars to Your Beautiful being the first of five tracks which peaked on the Billboard charts including those of the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. In an interview that Cara gave with Rap Up, this particular song had a lot of significance for a lot of the listeners who related to her story about accepting and loving yourself. Cara is known for incorporating messages about mental health, kindness and self-love into her songs. All of Cara's music stems directly from her struggles with mental illness, insomnia and other health issues. According to a Reuters Interview, her album has been described as a semi-tumultuous and half-perfected. Therapy helped her grow and urges others to do the same. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. She was born July 11, 1996, to parents of Italian origins. Her parents bought her a new guitar, which she used to further develop her passion for the music. In the year 2003, she turned 13 she started singing songs she loved through YouTube. It proved to be a fantastic method to demonstrate to the world that she possessed both talent and courage. Sweater Weather was her most popular album. A record label, EP Entertainment, noticed her and allowed her to write songs.
