Cara's music is known to be filled with messages of kindness self-love, self-love and mental wellness. She has been struggling with anxiety and insomnia, both of which affected her life. According to a Reuters interview, she has described her album as half-tumultuous and half-perfected. Her growth was aided through therapy. She also encourages her fellow singers, if needed, to seek support. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th of July 1996. The guitar was gifted to her by her parents after she was 10 years old, which sparked the passion for music. In the age of 13, she started covering songs she loved on YouTube to demonstrate to people that she was a talented artist and was able to make a profession of a musician.
