Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was born on July 11, 1996 to parents with Italian descent. She was given a guitar by her parents after she was 10, which ignited her musical passion. When she was thirteen, she began singing songs she liked on YouTube to prove to her fans that she had talent and brave enough to pursue a career as musician. Indeed she covered one of her tracks Sweater Weather was the song which got her attention by EP Entertainment. They allowed her to compose and create her own songs.
