In 2015 at 19 she released her debut single, Here. The song was widely acclaimed by both critics and the public. It reached number 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone listed the smash as one the most popular Songs of 2015. The same year, she debuted her album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being one of the five original songs which peaked on the Billboard charts, including the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. The track is special since, in light of the Rap-Up interview that she conducted, many of the listeners could relate to her experience in discovering their own love and rethinking their beliefs about her. Cara has earned a name for incorporating messages about the importance of mental health, kindness and love of self in her songs. Her inspiration for her music comes from Cara's personal struggle to conquer mental health issues and insomnia. According to an Reuters interview, her album is described as halfway tumultuous, half perfected. Her development was assisted by therapy. She also encourages her fellow singers when they need to seek help. Alessia Cara has been a Canadian artist since 1996. Her parents have Italian origin. In 2010, her parents bought her a new guitar, which she used to discover her love for the music. In the age of 13she began covering songs she liked on YouTube in order to show people that she had talent and had the courage to make a profession of musician. In fact the cover song Sweater Weather became the one that made her the focus of EP Entertainment. They allowed her to write as well as record herself music.
