She released her debut single Here in 2015 at the age of 19 years old. The single was a hit and received praise from both listeners and critics alike. It reached number 19 in both Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it as one of the top songs of the year. The same year when she dropped Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful One of her five original tracks that was featured in the Billboard Charts including Billboard Hot 100 from Canada as well as Billboard 200 for Canada's Album Charts. The song was unique since a lot of people reacted to the conversation she conducted with Rap-Up about her struggle to learn to love and accept herself. Cara is known for incorporating messages about mental health compassion and self-love in her music. The inspiration for her music is drawn from her own personal journey as she has been battling mental health issues as well as insomnia. According to a Reuters Interview, her album is described as semi-tumultuous and half-perfected. The singer says that she found her growth through therapy. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. Her birth date was July 11th, 1996 to parents of Italian descent. Her parents gave her an instrument when she was 10 years old, which ignited her love for music. She started covering her favourite songs at age thirteen to show everyone that she could sing and had the courage necessary to be an artist. One of her tracks, Sweater Weather, was the one that got her attention. EP Entertainment gave her the opportunity to create and record her own tracks.
