Alessia Cara
She released her debut single, Here in 2015 at the age of 19. It was an instant hit, and both critics and fans praised the song. It peaked at number 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the hit one of the Best Songs in 2015. Her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third track, Scars to Your Beautiful was among five tracks which reached the top charts on Billboard including Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as Billboard Hot 100. In her interview with Rap-Up the listeners discussed Cara's self-love journey and her doubts. Cara is well-known for her ability to incorporate the themes of mental health and love and self-love into her songs. Everything stems from her personal journey as she has struggled with mental health issues and insomnia. In an Reuters interview she describes the album as being half turbulent and half complete. She found growth through therapy and advises people to seek out help when needed. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. She was born July 11th, 1996 to parents with Italian heritage. Alessia Cara's parents gave her her first guitar when she was 10. That was her first step in music. 2013 was the year she recorded her favorite songs for YouTube which is a well-known social media site. The goal was to prove that she had both the ability and the confidence to pursue a career as an artist. In fact the cover songs Sweater Weather became the song that got her noticed by EP Entertainment. They allowed her to write and record her own songs.
