Alessia Cara's parents gave her her first guitar when she was 10. That was her first step in music. 2013 was the year she recorded her favorite songs for YouTube which is a well-known social media site. The goal was to prove that she had both the ability and the confidence to pursue a career as an artist. In fact the cover songs Sweater Weather became the song that got her noticed by EP Entertainment. They allowed her to write and record her own songs.
