Alessia Cara

At the age of 19, she published her first debut single Here. The track was highly praised by critics as well as fans. It reached number 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the track one of the top Songs of 2015. The same year she launched her debut album Know It All, the song Scars to Your Beautiful ranked in the Billboard Hot 100 as well as the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. It was also one of the original five songs. The song was particularly memorable due to her interview with the Rap-Up show, many fans related to her journey of doubting herself and learning how to be a better person. Cara's music is known to contain messages of love, self-love and mental health. She's been in the midst of insomnia and anxiety, which affected her life. According to a Reuters interview, she's described her album half tumultuous and half-perfected. Therapy helped her grow and advises people to seek assistance if needed. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11, 1996. When she was 10 years old, her parents gifted her a guitar, which was the beginning of her passion for music. She began to cover her favorite songs when she was 13, to prove to the world she was a talented musician and the determination required to be a singer. Sweater Weather is one of these covers which led to being discovered to be signed by EP Entertainment. This record label allowed her create her own songs.
