Her debut track Here came out in 2015. The song was an instant hit and received praise from both listeners and critics alike. It reached the top spot at 19th in both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone listed the hit as among most popular Songs in 2015. At the same time when she dropped Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful, one of her five original tracks included on the Billboard Charts including Billboard Hot 100 from Canada, and Billboard 200 for Canada's Album Charts. It was a special track because, based on her interview with Rap-Up that she conducted, many of the listeners could connect to her experiences of finding love for themselves, as well as doubting herself. Cara's tracks often contain positive messages regarding mental health and the importance of loving oneself. The inspiration for her music comes from Cara's personal struggle to overcome mental health problems and insomnia. In a Reuters interview, she's described her album as half-tumultuous but half perfected. Therapy helped her grow and she encourages others to seek assistance if needed. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. She was born July 11th, 1996 to parents with Italian descent. Her parents gifted her with their first guitar at the age of 10. This was her beginning with music. Three years later at the age of 13 she began performing her favourite songs on YouTube one of the biggest media platforms in order to demonstrate to the world that she possessed the talent skills and the determination to be an artist. Indeed one of the covers Sweater Weather was able to get noticed by a record label named EP Entertainment which allowed her to create and write her songs.
