Her debut track Here was released in the year 2015. The single garnered a lot of praise and was well-received by both listeners and critics. The song reached the top spot at 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song as one of 2015's Best Songs. The same year when she debuted Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of her five original tracks featured on the Billboard Charts which include Billboard Hot 100 for Canada, and Billboard 200 for Canadian Albums Charts. The track is special because, based on her interview with Rap-Up that she gave many of her listeners were able to identify with her journey of discovering their own love and doubting her. Cara is known for incorporating songs about mental health, love and self-love into her music. The inspiration for her music is derived from her own struggle in overcoming mental health issues and insomnia. In a Reuters interview she describes the album as being half turbulent and half complete. The singer says that she discovered her development in therapy. Alessia Cara is a Canadian artist who was born July 11, 1996, to parents of Italian heritage. Her first guitar was purchased by her parents when she was 10, which ignited her musical passion. Three years later at the age of 13 she began covering her favorite songs through YouTube a major media platform in order to demonstrate to the world that she had the talents and determination to develop into a singer. Sweater Weather is among the covers that resulted in her being noticed at the time by EP Entertainment. This record label gave her the opportunity to create new songs of her own.
